Richmond to Phoenix, Day 12, Part 2 El Paso to Tucson

January 8, 2012

Breakfast at Denny's
We were hungry and tired of driving already, so we started to look for an iHop or Cracker Barrel or someplace to eat breakfast.  When we spotted this Denny's, we were a little dubious, but decided to check it out, mainly because there were a lot of cars.  It turned out to be a wonderful, friendly local restaurant with great service and very good food!  And some very BIG hairdo's, piled up and heavily sprayed!

So typical.  This wasn't a fancy neighborhood, but it was colorful.

9:45. So, we are back on the road again after a wonderful hot breakfast at Denny's in Deming, NM.  we had a good time there, the people were friendly and the food was good!  Now it's only 82 miles to the border.  We'll stop at Lordsburg for fuel first.

Only 58 miles to Lordsburg, and 212 miles to Tucson

This is our stop!

Yep.  Typical of this area!

Who can get tired of trains?  Not us!
I'm taking pictures of trains again.  Just got a decent one.  Hard to get, so I take lots.
We have sooooo many already from past trips.

Wide open spaces here.  I love watching the trucks!
The only color is my socks!
Rest stop. it's 40 deg.  Only 110 miles to the Arizona border.

Now, here is a little color!!!  Not purple, but a nice bright yellow.

See you in the next post, Day 12, part 3!

Watch this shoot-out!  Be patient.

  1. Cute video! I had a very good friend who was from Deming. Ever meet a petite 4' something lady named Darlinda while you were there? She's one who would probably have piled up hair by now :)
