BIG SPRINGS AT LAST!
We arrived at the Ford dealer at 3:10; we had to go only 295 miles but with pit stops and lunch, there you are--- 7 hrs! A long day and we still have to get the inspections. We are weary. We'll rest from driving this evening and all day tomorrow and then probably move on to El Paso on Friday as planned. It is an incredibly beautiful day!
This is the street leading to the Ford dealer. It always intrigues me.
Lots of interesting signs...
The sales manager saw me taking pictures of the street( actually the Bail Bond sign) and was upset to think that I was taking pictures of the ugliest part of town when there is a lovely section and park. I promised him we'd go there tomorrow and take more "representative" pictures. [We did, and aside from the lovely state park, there was nothing interesting to see, unless we missed something important. The town has an oil refinery which employs many.
I was intrigued to see so many bail bonds signs. It tells us something about the area.
Here we are!!!
Stickers on at 3:40 PM. Just like Michael said, about 1/2 hour.
The service person posed for me while applying the inspection sticker. It only took about 1/2 hour to have the inspection done. They were very nice people at this place. Bock's Ford.

In Livingston two years ago the guy was a real pain. We had to go to two separate places, one for each vehicle. The trailer inspector drove around, checked everything in detail, drove forward and SLAMMED on the brakes; and he wasn't very pleasant. This guy just checked the lights, wipers, etc; he never got in the truck at all. Maybe the last guy was really just making sure we, and others, are safe on the highway.
Now we are ready to finish with this day's trip. We'll head over to Whip In and get set up, eat supper and take a walk before dark. One more part to Day 8 and we can move on!

What is the inspection about? Is it because you're towing? Who requires it? I hope the RV park is closer to the park and farther away from all the bail bonds places!
