Last leg to Big Spring.
SMILE!
It's 11:00 am and we're only 26 miles from Abilene and 136 miles from Big Spring!
We need a good breakfast today. It's one of THOSE days, it just seemed long before we even got started. So we were happy to find a Cracker Barrel and have a hot meal!
It made us SMILE!
Here's Michael, ready for breakfast!
Carol is ready to go in! Why is Michael taking pictures again? :)
Michael says even the horses like to go RV-ing.
Well, they didn't seem unhappy!
We left Cracker Barrel at about 12:30 pm.
Some time after that, we needed to stop at Flying J for fuel. Always!
It doesn't look very busy, does it?

We're listening to the audio book, The Blessing by John Trent and Gary Smalley. It's excellent and will help us better prepare for our talk in Plano, at the Anglican conference, plenary session. We're speaking to the chaplains on the subject of family blessings, father and mother blessings, and will be offering prayer afterward.
Meanwhile Carol's knitting again. Finally. Anyone can knit!
I LOVE the colorful signs!
Here is a nice YouTube Michael made for you.
Remember to be patient and let it load completely before viewing it smoothly. :)
We see a lot of oil drills out here. They look like those dipping birds we had as kids, they sat perched and dipped their beaks in the water, came up and went back down again. We were entranced!
My grandfather, a doctor, used to give us sample capsules and we'd dump out the medication and put BBs (like ball bearings) in them and they turned into Mexican Jumping Beans. It didn't take much to entertain us then, either. Some things never change. :)
See you in the next segment, Day 8, Part 6, when we arrive in Big Spring. Finally.

What cool signs you've seen. I'm glad you were able to get photos to share some of them with us :) But why is Michael going in the back door to the restaurant? I love seeing the wind turbines and also the oil drills - they're both a lot of fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that comic! That is so great!
